Why Have You Forsaken Me? - Matthew 27:45-46

Forsaken defined: to renounce or turn away from entirely; to abandon, desert, turn your back on, to be completely forgotten and ignored. It is a willful choice on the part of a person.

Did God the Father really forsake His only begotten Son on the cross? Did He really pour His anger and wrath out on Jesus and turn His back on Him? OR, was this question posed by Jesus, simply a reference point for a greater revelation of what was actually happening there? Have you ever felt forsaken by God? Do you think that God would actually turn His back on you as His child and walk away from you in your hour of need?
