Jesus makes it very clear that if anyone would abide in (accept and then act on) his teachings, they would understand "the truth." In addition, that truth in turn, would bring them spiritual freedom.

If the teachings of Jesus are indeed the words of life, why aren't they a part of our daily life? Why aren't they a part of our every conversation? Why don't they order our steps from our rising in the morning to our retiring at night? Is it because we lack devotion and love for Him? Is it because we don't recognize the value of our Master's teachings? Is it because we have forgotten the importance of hiding His word in our hearts? Is it because we have been lulled into an apathy, which has little value for spiritual nourishment? Or is it a mixture of or all of these?
